Telepsychology is a way to receive psychological healthcare virtually through telephone or through video call. It is different to E-therapy which tends to include chat room, SMS and email therapy.

Dr Gill abides by professional and ethical standards around using TelePsych and is well experienced in having used this modality for therapy, ever since it was expanded to all Australians in 2019. TelePsych is now permanently funded by Medicare for Psychology rebates. This means you can now access professional psychological therapy conveniently in the comfort of your own home, during a lunch break in the office, vehicle or even while on a walk so you can fit sessions around other commitments. It is well suited to people who have restrictions on time and mobility, have been unable to find a compatible Therapist locally or wanting continuity of care if often relocating.

The American Psychological Association has recognised studies indicating effectiveness of Telehealth in treating various mental health conditions such as Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Substance use, and Adjustment Disorder, whilst further research is required around effectiveness of managing more serious difficulties such as psychotic disorders using this medium.

If you have a phone, tablet or computer, with internet access we can arrange appointments so you will receive a call at the time of your booking. You will receive an email reminder of the appointment the day prior to the appointment. On the day of appointment you will receive a call or a video link to open at the time agreed. All you need to do is ensure you are alone, in a private, quiet, safe location for the duration of the appointment, with your device charged and network ready.Â
